Can't Catch A Football OR A Break... E-mail

Well, might as well cancel the season, because apparently Limas Sweed has suffered a "serious achilles tendon injury."

No details yet on how this actually happened or what it specifically might be, but Dr. Ed Bouchette, MD says if it's a ruptured tendon Sweed probably won't play in 2010.

All kidding aside, this certainly isn't GOOD news for the Steelers.

Sure, up to this point he's had more "personal problems" than catches in the NFL.

But with Santonio gone, once you get past the top three receivers - Ward, Wallace, Randle El - we're talking about Arnaz Battle and a bunch of rookies/unknowns...

Still, let's be honest - we don't even know if he would've made (/will make) it off the practice squad this season, let alone catch a pass or even, dare I say, make an impact.

So, I don't know about you, but I'm not about to get my balls all tangled over Limas Sweed's achilles tendon.

Hell, maybe this 6'4", 215 pound Brandon London will be a pleasant surprise.

Ok, maybe not, but let's just suffice it to say this isn't exactly the Steelers biggest problem right now.

Now, how do you end a post in which you really didn't say anything anyway?

Like this, I guess...

[UPDATE: Adam Schefter says the Steelers were "thisclose" (direct quote) to trading Sweed and then didn't...]

Sweed for Leftwich, straight up?

Who knows.

If that was the case, I'm glad they decided to fire off a 7th round pick instead.

Still, awfully interesting to hear about now...
