Whether or not the Steelers actually end up in the playoffs, you gotta appreciate the way they're hanging in there over these final few games.

Today's game wasn't exactly the Mona Lisa of December victories, but for a team that hasn't had a turnover since November, forcing Joe Flacco to commit two and sacking him four times had to feel pretty damn uplifting.

Lamarr Woodley had 10 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble and one pass defended in this game.

Ziggy Hood got his first sack AND his first fumble recovery.

Big Ben became the only Steelers QB to ever pass for more than 4,000 yards in a season.

Rashard Mendenhall went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season.

Santonio Holmes had five catches for 86 yds and a TD (he's now 3rd in the NFL in receiving yards).

Mike Wallace had three catches for 83 yds (he's now 2nd among NFL rookies in receiving yards).

Shit, Ike Taylor got a sack (though he couldn't bring down a sure interception)!

And most importantly, the Defense came up big this time, when the Wood and the Hood collaborated on a forced fumble/fumble recovery that ultimately became the straw that broke the camel's Ravens' back with about two and a half minutes left in regulation...

So with one game to go, here's the situation...

To get the five seed, the Steelers need to beat the Dolphins, they need the Patriots to beat the Texans, and they need the Bengals to beat the Jets as well as the Raiders to beat the Ravens.

To get the six seed, the Steelers need to beat the Dolphins, they need the Bengals to beat the Jets, and they need either the Patriots to beat the Texans, the Raiders to beat the Ravens or the Raiders to beat the Ravens and the Chiefs to beat the Broncos.

In otherwords, we're all huge Pats, Bungles, Raiders and/or Chiefs fans next weekend!

The irony is, the Steelers lost to all of those teams except the Pats this season.

Ah, the memories.

Full recap will grace this site sometime tomorrow.

In the meantime, we'll take all of your initial thoughts in the comments.

Good night, good luck...

...and GO STEELERS!!!!
